HOSPITALS The place is buzzing with activities 24/7! If you like working with people, and being around a lot ol other people, iworking in a hospital might be attractive to you. An average hospital has hundreds of employees, and with patients coming in and out on a daily basis, each day brings new challenges. Also, because healthcare is such a growing industry, hospital jobs are relatively secure when compared to corporations which may be more volatile at times. Everyone has been to hospitals once in his/ her lifetime and therefore knows what sort of activities takes place there. But one of the most important things is that in hospitals life is at stake. Therefore quality care is really crucial. Having said this next thing that comes up in our mind is people delivering this care and they are no one else than health care professionals!

Who are health workers?
Health workers are all people whose main activities are aimed at enhancing health. They include the people who provide health services — such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory technicians — and management and support workers such as financial officers, administrators, receptionists, cooks, drivers and cleaners. Worldwide, there are 59.8 million health workers. About two-thirds of them (39.5 million) provide health services; the other one-third (19.8 million) are management and support workers. Without them, prevention and treatment ofdisease and advances in health care cannot reach those in need.
Therefore Hospital jobs are in high demand, as are hospital workers. Hospitals hire all levels and types of professionals for both clinical and non-clinical hospital jobs. Clinical hospital jobs are those which provide direct patient care, such as nurses, doctors, or allied personnel. Non-clinical hospital jobs are administrative or management types of roles, which could include everything from the janitors to the executives, and everyone in between.

Health Care Management or Hospital Management is an upcoming specialisation in management education. Not only doctors but other professionals such as Psychologists, Naturopaths. Physiotherapist, Dieticians and plain graduates are pursuing a degree in Health Care.
